Helping Parents and Young Children Thrive Together

My Story

My passion for working with young children with developmental and behavioral challenges began during my undergraduate studies at Texas Tech University, where I worked as an in-home behavior therapist for Lubbock ISD. This hands-on experience with young children, families, and educators ignited my interest in helping children navigate emotional and behavioral obstacles. After graduating in 2000 with a degree in Psychology, I returned to the Dallas/Fort Worth area to continue my work as a Registered Behavior Technician and behavior consultant.

Throughout my career, I’ve worked across various settings, including private practice, public and private schools, and medical settings such as The Center for Autism and Developmental Disabilities. In 2019, I earned my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of the Southwest and, after three years of supervised practice, became a fully Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas in 2022. My diverse experience has shaped my understanding of how to best support children with developmental and behavioral challenges and their families.

With over 25 years of experience, I know the importance of involving parents in the therapeutic process. I strive to help families understand the underlying causes of their child's behaviors and collaborate on creating individualized plans that promote positive, lasting change. Behavioral issues often impact the entire family, and my goal is to help restore balance and improve family dynamics.

Beyond my work, I believe in maintaining a healthy work-life balance. I practice Pilates and mindful meditation and cherish time spent with family and friends. I also enjoy traveling, listening to music, reading, gardening, and camping, all of which help me reset and stay focused.

Helping others is my passion, and I look forward to assisting you and your family on your journey toward a happier, more balanced life.
